At what I thought was the end of a nights work ( paid at venue I assist; pro bono doing street patrol ), Bro Al Mims and I were at a gas station. A homeless man walked from pump to pump, digging out cigarette stubs and food from trash cans.
He readily accepted my offer of a meal and I went inside the gas station to purchase it. This reminded me of a soulful scavenger I call the Forgotten Man. We met after the epic local adventure that was Occupy Nola. He would go out into the night and return with enough uneaten, thrown away food to feed six or more people.
This is ugly reality for far too many Americans caught in the stranglehold of engineered misery. While this stranglehold isn’t broken by micro good alone, we’re nonetheless able to slip direct, no red tape assistance between its claws. Direct, no red tape assistance is a blessing when people are eating out of trash cans.
