Writing ( now blogging ), creating safety with few-and-far-between event clients and ” getting my RLSH ( real life superhero activity ) on ” are my three great self-expressions.
Getting my RLSH on is something done even before finding out about real life superheroes in 2008. Police support; political advocacy and outreach to people in need were what I promoted and didn’t always document for public consumption. Remember Super friends, I predate social media so it wasn’t part of the culture to share daily updates of deeds done. Now, it’s as natural as talking. Getting your RLSH on allows you to share some ” Super ( fiction inspired intervention ) ” where it otherwise may not exist. Even if you don’t publicize it, you and those assisted know it happened.
The ” Golden Age ” of on line real life superhero communication saw us sharing achievements and thoughts on this Life Fantastic we pursued. This was before internet beefing and the advent of some RLSH getting serious major media attention.
Getting your RLSH on is a uniquely personal act which also connects you to a global community of creative advocates and related activists. Look at the headlines; look around your community and tell me you don’t feel like it’s time to get your RLSH on! Somebody will appreciate that you did. :).
